WASC Accreditation

We are happy to announce that "Vallalar Tamil School, West Windsor" following the ITA Syllabus, has received Accreditation from Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) - https://www.acswasc.org

Highlights of WASC Accreditation

Tamil language is an ancient South Indian Language with a long history and rich literature and comprehensive grammar.

The main objective of International Tamil Academy (ITA) is to teach the Tamil language to the Diaspora Children and Youth. In addition to teaching Tamil, ITA encourages Cultural activities such as music, dance, drama and any art form based on Tamil language and Tamil culture to promote Tamil and Tamil culture.

ITA has a rich language program and its students not only study the language, they also learn about its history and culture. The Visiting Committee met with many parents across the US and all were in agreement that ITA’s program was engaging and met the needs of families and students.

Students mentioned to the Visiting Committee that they enjoyed learning about their language, culture and history. Students also shared that they enjoyed time with other students that had them same cultural background.

The Visiting Committee spoke to teachers, parents, students and directors and concluded that ITA’s program not only taught the language, ITA also encouraged students to participate in cultural activities and events.
